Beach Boys To Play Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre: Tickets

The iconic California band is coming to Atlanta this February.

ATLANTA, GA — The Beach Boys are coming to Atlanta for a performance at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in 2020. Tickets are now on sale to see the band on its "12 Sides of Summer" tour on Feb. 26.

Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center was opened in 2007, and the theater is known for its stellar modern-day technology and acoustics. Leading acts such as Demi Lovato, Alice Cooper, ABBA, Melissa Etheridge, Nora Jones and Bill Maher have all performed here.

Come February, add The Beach Boys to that list of icons. Founded in Hawthorne, California, in 1961, the band is known for creating early surf music and represented counterculture of the era. With 36 songs on the U.S. Top 40, they have the most hits of any American rock band.

The performance in Georgia is part of the band's "12 Sides of Summer" 2020 tour. Beginning Feb. 7 in Louisville, Kentucky, the tour will stop in 26 cities across the United States and Europe before wrapping up in Wichita, Kansas, July 31.

The current tour includes original Beach Boys Mike Love and Bruce Johnston. Love leads the vocals while playing tambourine and sax, and Johnston provides vocals, keyboards, bass, guitar, and percussion. Those two legends are joined by newer members including Scott Totten, John Cowsill, Tim Bonhomme, Randy Leago, Christian Love, Keith Hubacher and Brian Eichenberger.

Fans are sure to enjoy an array of songs from the band's heyday. The band is known for its upbeat California sound, with hits like "Good Vibrations," "I Get Around," "Wouldn't It Be Nice," "Surfin' USA," "Surfer Girl" and "Fun, Fun, Fun."

Of course, the group will also perform songs from the band's 50th anniversary album, "That's Why God Made the Radio." The 2012 album featured original Beach Boys Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston, Mike Love, David Marks and Brian Wilson.
