Chick-fil-A Says It's Bringing Back The Takeout Option
Chick-fil-A announced that it plans to reopen its doors for takeout only.
ATLANTA, GA — Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A will soon reopen its doors at select locations for carryout only. The company posted on its website May 1 that it will soon allow some locations to allow customers to enter for takeout. The dining rooms and play sets would remain closed to the public.
Other changes would include “plexiglass partitions and hand sanitizer stations.”
Chick-fil-A locations with open doors will implement contactless ordering and ask customers to follow social distancing guidelines while waiting in line.

Chick-fil-A closed all of its dining rooms to customers in March, but kept the drive-thru and curbside pickup options available.
Certain businesses in Georgia are allowed to operate while following restrictions through May 13. Gov. Brian Kemp also extended the public health state of emergency through June 12 to continue increasing testing, boost contact tracing, and continue emergency response operations.

Globally, more than 3.4 million people have been infected by COVID-19, and over 244,000 people have died, Johns Hopkins University reported Monday at noon. In the U.S., more than 1.1 million people have been infected and over 67,000 people have died from COVID-19.
