Colliers hires two investment brokers

Colliers expands capital markets capabilities as two veteran investment brokers join the firm

Colliers has hired two veteran investment brokers bringing their years-long relationships with institutional investors and capital providers to Colliers, where they will facilitate industrial and office investment sale and capital transactions. Jeff Morris joins as Executive Managing Director of Capital Markets, and Bret Felberg joins as Managing Director of Capital Markets.

In their new roles, Morris and Felberg will focus on Colliers’ Capital Markets practice in the Southeast related to sales, as well as debt and equity placement for existing properties and new construction. The team will be working in conjunction with Colliers’ industrial platform consisting of over 90 leasing and investment professionals and over 300 million square feet of managed properties.
“Over the past couple of years, Colliers has put increased focus on expanding its capital markets capabilities. Bringing on Jeff and Bret bolsters our capabilities significantly. Both have the resumes and depth of experience to help us tap into previously untapped opportunities.”
- Danny Rice, Executive Managing Director & Market Leader for Colliers Tampa Bay, Central & Southwest Florida

Morris, who will be based out of Atlanta, most recently served as a Senior Managing Director at JLL. He has been involved in commercial real estate transactions totaling $20 billion over the course of his 33-year career. This includes transactions in all four major commercial real estate asset classes (industrial, office, multifamily, retail) and in over 30 different markets across the country.
“The opportunity to work with the industrial practice that Colliers has was a big attraction for Bret and me,” Morris said. “We’ve worked with all product types, but this focus on industrial and tapping into that growth potential on the capital markets side is something we’re really looking forward to.”
Morris’ notable transactions include the Praedium Portfolio of 7,500 multifamily units across the country that sold for $1.7 billion; Southeast Financial Center, a 55-story office tower in downtown Miami that sold for $588 million; the Makena Resort in Maui, Hawaii, that sold for $575 million; and Wells Fargo Center, a 750,000-square-foot office building in Miami that sold for $304 million.
Clients that Morris has represented include TIAA-CREF (now Nuveen), Invesco, JP Morgan, Clarion, Equity Residential, Prudential, Goldman Sachs, Blackrock, MetLife, Morgan Stanley, Starwood, LaSalle and Wells Fargo.
Felberg most recently served as a Senior Director in the Orlando office of JLL Capital Markets, Americas. For Felberg, the move represents a return to Colliers, as he worked as an investment sales broker with the firm from 2012 to 2014.
Felberg’s notable transactions include the sale of Gatewood Commerce Center, a 450,000-square-foot industrial property that sold for $60.5 million; Maitland Summit, a 588,678-square-foot four-building office park in Maitland, Florida, that sold for $117 million; and the capitalization of Prime Logistics Center, a 830,000-square-foot industrial development in Orlando, Florida.
Clients that Felberg has represented include McDonald Development, Whitley Capital, MLG, Harrod Properties, Starwood and Parkway Properties.
