Delta Airlines Continues Open Middle Seat
Seat blocking policy will be extended through April to help prevent spread of COVID-19.

ATLANTA — Delta Airlines will continue its commitment to socially distanced flying.
The Atlanta-based airline announced Monday that middle seats on all flights will remain open through April 30, according to a statement.
The commercial air carrier cited safety amid continued concerns about the spread of COVID-19 and messaging from passengers as the reason for extending its seat blocking policy which began in April 2020.

“We want our customers to have complete confidence when traveling with Delta, and they continue to tell us that more space provides more peace of mind,” Chief Customer Experience Officer Bill Lentsch said in a statement. “We’ll continue to reassess seat blocking in relation to case transmission and vaccination rates, while bringing back products and services in ways that instill trust in the health and safety of everyone on board – that will always be Delta’s priority.”
This change comes in addition to measures Delta has already taken, like deploying dedicated clean ambassador teams to more than 55 airports nationwide, and opening rapid testing facilities at airports in Atlanta, Boston, Detroit, Minneapolis, New York-JFK, and Seattle.
