Delta Ramps Up International Flight Schedule

ATLANTA, GA — Delta Air Lines will bring more international flights to its calendar this fall and next year.

The Atlanta-based airline said that bringing back flights that were temporarily suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic means “the lifting of travel restrictions, potential vaccine availability and the gradual return of demand.”

Starting Oct. 25, Delta plans to have flights from Atlanta to Tokyo and Seoul, with four flights a week to Tokyo Haneda and at least five flights a week to Seoul Incheon.

Daily service on each route will increase starting March 28, 2021.

“While significant hurdles remain in the global fight against the pandemic, we are ready to connect customers to the people, places, opportunities and experiences they’re longing for,” said Joe Esposito, S.V.P. – Network Planning. “Customers flying internationally can look forward to a modernized fleet featuring our latest cabin products and a travel experience that prioritizes their health and the health of our employees from check-in to baggage claim.”

Delta said that international travel is still slower to return than domestic flying within the United States.
