FanDuel Picks Ponce City Market For New Atlanta Tech Hub

ATLANTA — Mobile gaming company FanDuel has inked a deal to move into the Ponce City Market.

The online gaming and sportsbook platform announced last month its plans to bring roughly 900 high-tech jobs to Atlanta over the next five years.

Monday the company said it would build out its 68,000 square-foot tech hub on the third floor of the historic building in the Old Fourth Ward.

“Ponce City Market is the perfect location for our new technology campus and reflects our commitment to becoming a central part of the Atlanta corporate footprint,” said Sarah Butterfass, Chief Product Officer for FanDuel Group. “This historic building offers our employees a blend of old-world charm, cutting edge sophistication and modern amenities that will deliver an unmatched working environment. Additionally, its location allows us to build deep ties to Atlanta’s diverse pipeline of talent coming from its many top-flight universities.”

The mixed-use development now known as Ponce City Market originally opened in the 1920s as a Sears, Roebuck & Co. retail store, then as a Sears regional headquarters before becoming Atlanta City Hall East where Atlanta Police and Atlanta Fire & Rescue were headquartered.

Jamestown, the real estate investment and management firm behind Ponce City Market, said it is happy to have the new company.

FanDuel joins other tech companies that have identified Atlanta as a hub for technology because of the region’s diverse hiring pool, including Microsoft, Airbnb and Google, among others.
