ATLANTA, GA — With Father’s Day coming up this Sunday, there are plenty of dad-friendly activities taking place this weekend. Beer-loving dads can check out both the Atlanta Summer Beer Festival and Chicken And Beer Festival. And for the dad who likes to think he’s a cool dad, head to Birthday Bash for performances from the likes of Migos and Lil Yachty.

Juneteenth Atlanta Parade & Music Festival

Created to pay respect and homage to the Africans and African-Americans who were once enslaved in the United States, Juneteenth is a celebration that takes place across the country. This year, an all-out celebration featuring live music and a parade will take place in and around The Home Depot Backyard in downtown Atlanta.

If you enjoy a crispy, piping-hot piece of fried chicken just as much as you like an ice-cold brew, then we’ve got the perfect festival for you. Taking place in Piedmont Park is the Chicken And Beer Festival. At the festival, restaurants from across the South will be slinging their fried chicken. Tickets also include unlimited beer samples.

Paws in PJs Adopt-a-Thon
Neighborhood: Vinings
It’ll be an all-day and all-night adopt-a-thon at the Best Friends Animal Society. The purpose of the pajama party is to help find homes for 200 animals in one day. As an added perk for curious adopters, all animals over six months go home for free (before 10 p.m.)

Atlanta Summer Beer Festival
Neighborhood: Old Fourth Ward
One of the biggest beer festivals in the city is going down this Saturday. With dozens of beers available to sample, Atlanta Summer Beer Festival is the place to be for brew enthusiasts. There will also be wine and cider samples and plenty of food on hand to purchase.

Hot 107.9 Birthday Bash
Neighborhood: Downtown
For lovers of hip hop and R&B, Birthday Bash has consistently proven to be the place to be to enjoy both veteran and up-and-coming acts. Among the artists scheduled to hit the stage are Migos, Meg Thee Stallion, Lil Yachty and City Girls. Tickets to Birthday Bash are still available, but start at $109 per person.

Father’s Day At The Zoo

In honor of Father’s Day, Zoo Atlanta is offering free admission to dads (with the purchase of any regularly-priced child’s or adult’s general admission ticket). While you’re at the zoo, be sure to wish a very special Happy Birthday to Ozzie. In addition to being a father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Ozzie is the oldest living male gorilla in the world!

Family Food Fest Atlanta

It’s fun (and food) for the whole family at the 17th annual Family Food Fest Atlanta. The event, which typically centers around Father’s Day, will include a competition for best dishes, various tastings, a cooking demo, a BBQ competition, the Colgate Bright Smiles Dental Van and a Kids Zone. Tickets to the festival range in price from $15 to $30.
