$10K Reward Offered For 'Safe Return' Of Missing Atlanta Woman
Jenna Van Gelderen was supposed to house-sit her parents' Atlanta home, but she vanished Aug. 19. Now, a $10,000 reward is being offered.

ATLANTA, GA -- A $10,000 reward is being offered for the safe return of an Atlanta woman who went missing two weeks ago in Druid Hills, Patch has learned. Jenna Van Gelderen, 25, was supposed to house-sit for her parents but disappeared after texting a friend to say that she was going to bed.

Her family has turned to social media, setting up a Facebook page to help find her.

"Our daughter Jenna went missing while house sitting at our house here in Atlanta on Friday night 8/18," her parents said on the Help Find Jenna Van Gelderen Facebook page. "Our son came over Saturday morning and found the house in disarray; our daughter gone and her car missing. Car is 2010 Blue Mazda 6 sedan; license PWH5902."
The family has been updating the page steadily, saying this weekend that more help from the authorities has been enlisted in the search for Gelderen. They also posted this on Monday: "Update 9/4: Jenna Still missing. Jenna was driving her mother's dark red Mazda 3 sedan (2010) the night before she disappeared," the latest post says. "Someone was in that car with her and came back to her parents home. Please call Dekalb Police or Leon Van Gelderen at 404.966.8565 if you saw Jenna in that car."

Gelderen reportedly texted a friend just after 2 a.m. to say that she was going to lay down. Her phone hasn't been used again, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Shortly after 2 a.m. on a Saturday morning, an Atlanta woman texted a close friend to say she was laying down. It was the last time the 25-year-old used her phone, her family says. And it was nine days ago.
At day break, Jenna's brother, William Van Gelderen, went to the home -- but his sister was gone as was her car and suitcase, the newspaper reports.
Jenna Van Gelderen is described as 4 '11 and 140 pounds.
