Free Vaccinations Available For Pets

Vets will be on hand as LifeLine Animal Project provides free services to pets in Fulton and DeKalb counties.

ATLANTA, GA – LifeLine Animal Project will be providing free vaccinations and a number of other services to pet owners during “Healthy Pets Fulton” on Saturday, April 1.

Veterinarians will be on hand at Washington Park, 102 Ollie Street NW from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., administering rabies shots, distemper/parvovirus shots for dogs and rabies and FVRCP shots for cats. Other services provided will include vouchers for free spay/neuters to use at LifeLine’s Spay & Neuter Clinics, free microchipping, free county pet registrations, free dog and cat food, free collars, free leashes and more.

No registration is necessary for the first-come, first-serve event.

“LifeLine offers veterinary services and pet education directly to pet owners in our communities who need them,” said LifeLine Animal Project CEO Rebecca Guinn in a statement. “These resources improve the quality of life for pets and their families, prevent unplanned litters and decrease the number of animals ending up in shelters.”

LifeLine Animal Project will follow suit with a “Healthy Pets DeKalb” on Saturday, May 6 at Wade Walker Park, 5585 Rockbridge Road, Stone Mountain, Georgia 30088. It will also run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

LifeLine Animal Project is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2002 with the hopes of ending the euthanasia of healthy and treatable animals in county shelters, according to the organization’s release. LifeLine manages DeKalb and Fulton County Animal Services, as well as a private rehabilitative shelter and two LifeLine Spay& Neuter Clinics. LifeLine cares for more than 27,000 animals and has performed more than 100,000 free and low-cost spay/neuter surgeries to date, including 30,000 stray/feral cats through Catlanta, the metro Atlanta area’s first and largest trap-neuter-return program.

The outreach programs focus on improving the standard of care for animals in the community and preventing pet overpopulation.
