As part of this special exhibit, attendees will be able to see firsthand the effects of “redlining.” Redlining refers to discriminatory practices that banks and other organizations use to refuse or limit loans, mortgages, insurance, etc. to those in inner-city neighborhoods. The Undesign the Redline exhibit will use narratives of people and communities, maps and other documentation to demonstrate redlining that has existed since the 1930s.
