Warmer temperatures should make this weekend an enjoyable one for outdoor activities

ATLANTA, Ga. – Weather conditions more like spring will return to the Atlanta starting on Friday, making for a fairly pleasant weekend and start of next week.

Friday will be mostly sunny, with a high of 66 degrees. The rest of the weekend will look similarly, although there is a 50 chance of rain on Saturday before 3 p.m.

Sunny skies and spring like temperatures will make outdoor activities very pleasant this weekend. Things figure to warm up even further when temperatures hit the mid-70s by Monday.

Here's a look at the extended weather forecast for metro Atlanta from the National Weather Service.

Friday: Mostly sunny with a high temperature near 66 degrees. A 30 percent chance of rain after 3 a.m., but that night should be partly cloudy with a low around 51 degrees. Southwest wind around 5 mph.

Saturday: A 50 percent chance of rain mainly before 3 p.m. Mostly cloudy with a high near 66 degrees. Most clear that night with a low temperature of around 41 degrees. West wind 10 to 15 mph., with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Sunday: Sunny with a high near 62 degrees. Clear that night with a low around 42 degrees.

Monday: Sunny with a high near 70 degrees. Clear that night with a low around 53 degrees.

Tuesday: Sunny with a high near 74 degrees. A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
