Georgia Weather Forecast: Warmer and Mostly Sunny Days Ahead

The cold spell is over and folks in the metro Atlanta area can again expect warmer temperatures and clear skies for much of the next week

ATLANTA, Ga. – Wednesday was hardly a lot of fun for those in the metropolitan area, but you can all take solace in knowing that the worst is over for now and that temperatures will be rising just about every day for much of the next week.

Thursday’s expected of peak of 52 degrees will be a marked improvement from the cold, windy temperatures from the day before, but mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-sixties will follow starting Friday and run through the weekend before things warm up even further at the start of next week.

There’s a 40 percent chance of rain for much of early Saturday, but much of the following week figures to be beautiful.

Here's a look at the extended weather forecast for metro Atlanta from the National Weather Service.

Thursday: Sunny with a high near 52 degrees. West winds from 5 to 10 mph., with gusts as high as 15 mph. Mostly clear that night with a low temperature of around 36 degrees. West wind around 5 mph.

Friday: Mostly sunny with a high temperature near 65 degrees. A 20 percent chance of rain after 2 a.m., but that night should be partly cloudy with a low around 50 degrees.

Saturday: A 40 percent chance of rain mainly between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Mostly cloudy with a high near 65 degrees. Most clearly that night with a low temperature of around 41 degrees.

Sunday: Sunny with a high near 63 degrees. Clear that night with a low around 41 degrees.

Monday: Sunny with a high near 67 degrees. Clear that night with a low around 51 degrees.

Tuesday: Sunny with a high near 75 degrees.
