Halloween Weekend And Whiskies Of The World: Atlanta This Weekend

Make your own lantern at the Grant Park Halloween Lantern Parade or sample rare whiskies at Whiskies Of The World.

ATLANTA, GA – As the final weekend before Halloween, the days ahead are absolutely brimming with spooky events to celebrate the holiday. There’s the family-friendly Grant Park Halloween Lantern Parade, and for some adults-only fun there’s Neon Nightmare with its “libations for the loathed, and bites for unholy appetites.” And thanks to VIVA Tequila Festival and Whiskies Of The World, there will be plenty of spirits — no pun intended — to go around.

Grant Park Halloween Lantern Parade

Atlanta’s Grant Park will light up quite literally as hundreds take part in the park’s Halloween Lantern Parade. All are invited to march in the parade and are encouraged to make their own lantern. For added convenience, lantern kits can be bought the day of the event for $20.

VIVA Tequila Festival

Neighborhood: Midtown

Returning for its second year is the VIVA Tequila Festival, a festival fully dedicated to, well, tequila! More than just a tequila free-for-all, VIVA Tequila Festival seeks to provide attendees with the opportunity to learn about this agave-based spirit. In addition to various tequilas ready for sampling, the event will also boast bites from a number of Atlanta restaurants.

Whiskies Of The World

Neighborhood: Buckhead

An event for true whisky connoisseurs, Whiskies Of The World declares itself as “one of the largest whisky tasting events in the US.” Whisky aficionados will be met with whisky tastings, whisky and food pairings, whisky and cigar pairings and plenty of fellowship with fellow sippers. Tickets to Whiskies Of The World start at $120.

Halloween In The Highlands

Neighborhood: Virgina-Highland

The weekend before Halloween always brings with it plenty of spooky options. And one of the biggest Halloween celebrations to take place in Atlanta is Halloween In The Highlands. Presented by Atlanta Bar Tours, Halloween In The Highlands is a massive bar crawl that will take ghouls and gals to over 10 bars and restaurants in VaHi.

Neon Nightmare

Neighborhood: Old Fourth Ward

For a unique Halloween bash, head to Neon Nightmare at Ponce City Market’s popular rooftop. In addition to stunning views of the city, you’ll be met with “sinister scenery” and “a full lineup of libations for the loathed, and bites for unholy appetites.” Tickets to Neon Nightmare are $45.

Dames And Dregs Presents Yoga And Beer For Everyone

Neighborhood: Grant Park

Dames And Dregs invites those of drinking age to enjoy free yoga and free beer at Eventide Brewing. Attendees will receive a free yoga session and a pint of beer. Additional brew will be sold, as will food and snacks from local vendors.

Day Of The Dead Festival

Neighborhood: Buckhead

If you’ve ever been curious about Day Of The Dead (Dia De Los Muertos), the Institute Of Mexican Culture/Consulate General Of Mexico will host an all-ages learning experience. Dubbed the Day Of The Dead Festival, the free event will feature traditional dancing, crafts, authentic Mexican food, entertainment and a display of altars.
