Metro Atlanta, North GA Under Flash Flood Watch

Heavy rains moved into the area overnight, but 2019's first weekend in metro Atlanta is shaping up to be beautiful.

PEACHTREE CITY, GA -- A flash flood watch for all of metro Atlanta is in effect until 7 pm Friday night, as north Georgia was deluged by heavy rains that began Thursday evening and are expected to last through Friday night. National Weather Service forecasters are calling for an additional 1 to 2 inches of rainfall throughout the day.

The good news, however, is that after all of this rain, metro Atlanta's first weekend of 2019 is shaping up to be just about perfect.
