ATLANTA — The wrong “Hot” light was on again Wednesday.

For the second time this year, the historic Krispy Kreme at 295 Ponce de Leon Ave., caught fire.

Atlanta Fire & Rescue crews arrived at the previously burned and boarded up building around 4:30 p.m., to find “fire showing through the roof,” spokesman Capt. Cortez Stafford said in a tweet.

Emergency crews blocked off Ponce de Leon and battled the blaze.

By around 5 p.m., firefighters had extinguished the new fire, authorities said.

The building has been closed since the first fire gutted the business in the early morning hours of Feb. 10.

Investigators determined arson was the cause of the February fire, and circulated a surveillance image of a man in all black who was considered a suspect.

It is unclear what progress, if any, fire and police investigators have made on finding this or any other suspects.

Owner, NBA All-Star Shaquille O’Neal told reporters in February that the property would “bounce back better than ever.”

Now, any progress that might have been made or even envisioned has been set back by this incident.

No cause is known, yet, and the investigation is ongoing.
