Hot Air Balloons And A Beach Bash: Atlanta This Weekend

ATLANTA, GA – Attention all sports fans: This weekend boasts several thrilling options for sports-lovers in Atlanta, like watching the Falcons at training camp or heading to an Atlanta United game! For those more inclined to take in some tunes and be carried away to the tropics, the Georgia Aquarium will hold a beach bash as part of their Sips Under The Sea series.

Other exciting events set to take place in the city this weekend include Atlanta Balloon Glow and The Rum Punch Brunch Street Dance. Here’s what else is happening around the city:

Sips Under The Sea: Beach Bash

Neighborhood: Downtown

The Georgia Aquarium’s Sips Under The Sea series is back and they’re ready for a full on beach bash! Attendees can expect tropical drinks, music and beach-inspired fare. Additionally, during this adults-only event, you’ll also have access to all six of the aquarium’s galleries. Tickets to Sips Under The Sea start at $29.95.

Atlanta Balloon Glow

Neighborhood: Midtown

If you’ve ever wanted to experience a hot air balloon, now’s your chance. Throughout this weekend’s Atlanta Balloon Glow, tethered hot air balloon rides will be available for $20 per person and can be booked in advance. If you have no desire to hover above the city in a hot air balloon, the event is free and open to the public, so you can view the festivities from the ground.

Atlanta United vs. Los Angeles Galaxy

Neighborhood: Downtown

Be sure to root for the home team as Atlanta United take on the Los Angeles Galaxy on Saturday. And if you’re feeling extra spirited, head to Mercedes-Benz Stadium a little early to take part in some festive tailgating before the game. Standing room only tickets to this weekend’s match can be purchased for as low as $25.

Jokin’ Off: A Comedy Battle

Described as “a rapid fire, single elimination one liner tournament,” Jokin’ Off will be hosted by Atlanta comedian, Greg Behrens and will feature eight comedians from both Atlanta and outside of the city. For those ready for a night full of laughter, Jokin’ Off is a worthy bet.

Atlanta Falcons Training Camp: Military Appreciation Day

As the Atlanta Falcons gear up for the fast-approaching football season, the team is busy perfecting plays and more as part of training camp. This weekend, Rum Punch Brunch will head from Space 2 and the Sound Table to the streets of Edgewood Avenue for The Rum Punch Brunch Street Dance. Although this special edition of Rum Punch Brunch has been held before, this time they’ll be celebrating Jamaica’s independence. The event is free to the public and you can expect plenty of food, drinks and rum punch for purchase.
