Atlanta preschoolers want storm-ravaged victims in Texas and Louisiana to know that they "heart" them very much.

ATLANTA, GA -- It is often said that it is not the size of a man, but what's in his heart that counts. Well, a group of Atlanta pre-schoolers are standing tall today after reaching out to their counterparts in Houston. After watching the destruction on TV for days now, metro Atlantans are donating to relief efforts to Harvey-affected areas.

Pre-schoolers at Primrose Schools in Buford and Gainesville this week wrote and drew notes of encouragement for kids living in Harvey's wake. The notes will be sent to students at the 40 Primrose schools impacted by the storm in the Houston area.

The Atlanta Humane Society took in more than 100 adoptable animals from their Houston counterpart as a contingent set off for Texas early Friday. The Houston Humane Society is in dire need of space for animals displaced in Hurricane Harvey, so Atlanta is lending a hand.
Residents in DeKalb County are generously contributing to relief efforts to help victims of Hurricane Harvey, Sheriff Jeff Mann said Wednesday. To ensure that donations from DeKalb residents reach those most in need directly, Mann is asking that people contribute direct monetary donations to the American Red Cross.
Hurricane Harvey: Cobb Sheriff Expresses Sympathies For Fallen Texas Officer
The tears shed for a fallen Texas officer in Hurricane Harvey have created a blue streak all the way to Georgia. The Cobb County Sheriff's Office joined in the mourning of Sgt. Steve Perez, who perished in the waters wrought by Harvey.
