Kasim Reed's Atlanta Mayoral Comeback Run Confirmed: Reports
Former Atlanta mayor Kasim Reed left City Hall amid controversy, but filed paperwork to raise funds for another run at office, reports say.
ATLANTA — It’s official.
Former Atlanta mayor Kasim Reed is back for another shot at City Hall’s top job, 11 Alive reports.
Tuesday, Reed filed paperwork to accept campaign contributions, the Atlanta news station reported.
Reed was elected Mayor in 2009 and left office eight years later under a cloud of controversy.

No formal announcement has been made, however. But his filing of paperwork came on the day that the first candidate forum featured individuals vying to replace Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, who announced her exit from the race last month.
It also coincides with a birthday party Thursday that Reed is promoting.
