Man Gets Life Plus 15 Years For Killing Girlfriend's Son

The shooting occurred Feb. 13 during a confrontation at the woman's home, say prosecutors.

ATLANTA, GA — A 52-year-old man will serve life in prison plus 15 years for shooting to death the son of a woman with whom he was having an extramarital affair, Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard Jr. announced Wednesday. On Nov. 16, a Superior Court jury convicted Calvin Sneed of felony murder, malice murder and other charges in the Feb. 13 killing of Gregory Jones, 30.

The shooting occurred during a confrontation between Sneed and Jones at the home of Jones's mother, Antoinette Williams, in the 3600 block of Croft Place, Howard said. Sneed pulled out a .32-caliber revolver and shot Jones three times, then fled the scene.

Jones was taken to a local hospital, where he died as a result of the gunshot wounds. He is survived by five children between the ages of 3 and 11, according to prosecutors.
