Mike Horne Named Director of Engineering

Horne is a results-driven executive with more than 40 years of experience in facilities management for the hotel industry. Prior to Beacon, Horne served as the Director of Engineering for both Marriott International and the 73-story Westin Peachtree Plaza. He was named the Chief Engineer of the Southeast Region for Marriott International after opening the Atlanta Marriott Marquis in 1985. Also of note is his time spent leading overseas resort operations focused on recovery and restoration after a natural disaster, as well as implementing sweeping facilities upgrades while maintaining day-to-day business activities.

With Beacon, Horne is responsible for ensuring all mechanical and electrical systems are operating at maximum efficiency and overseeing all preventative maintenance. He is also responsible for annual facilities budgets, as well as recruiting, motivating and supervising engineering teams.

With an impressive background in facilities management and administration, Horne is adept at creating productive, safe, and efficient environments in properties of 2 million square feet of space or more.
