Dozens of MLK Day events will be held in Atlanta Monday to pay tribute to the legendary civil rights icon.

ATLANTA, GA — Martin Luther King Day events are scheduled across Atlanta Monday to pay tribute to the iconic civil rights leader. There are free tours of his childhood home, special children’s programs, and more. Here are a few that we’ve rounded up.

City of East Point’s 2nd Annual MLK Day of Service
Jefferson Park Recreation Center, 1431 Norman Berry Drive, East Point, GA
11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Admission is free. Complimentary meals will be provided, along with health & wellness screenings, nutrition classes, smoke detectors, giveaways, a job fair and more.

Children’s Museum of Atlanta
275 Centennial Olympic Park Drive Northwest, Atlanta, GA
11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Special programming includes MLK Day Reader’s Theater, Music & Movement, Science Show and a special storytime. Learn more online.

“Day in The Dirt” at Loridans Park
10 a.m. to noon
Loridans Park, 700 Loridans Drive Northeast, Atlanta, GA
Volunteers will help with pruning, rooting out invasive species and cleaning up the park by collecting trash. Tools will be provided for by Livable Buckhead and the Atlanta Toolbank. Volunteers must be over the age of 12 and accompanied by an adult. Learn more and register online.

Swan House at Atlanta History Center
30 West Paces Ferry Road NW, Atlanta, GA
The community day will feature inspiring performances, programs, and historical simulations that highlight contributions and stories of African Americans in Atlanta. Learn more online.

MLK day 5K Drum Run
Piedmont Park 400 Park Dr Atlanta, GA
Music Starts at 8am, 5k line up at 8:45am
This 5K walk/run will take place entirely in Piedmont Park. The USATF certified race course and Peachtree Road Race qualifier will be run on grass, road, gravel, wooden bridge and dirt paths through the Park. Registration is $35.

Hosea Helps 2020 Celebration
Georgia World Congress Center, 285 Andrew Young International Blvd., NW
10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The free event will allow attendees to hear stories of civil rights foot soldiers. There will also be free food, live music and more. Information can be found online.

MLK Commemorative March and Rally Downtown
1:45 to 4:30 p.m.
The march will start at Peachtree Street and Baker Street and end in front of The King Center. It’s free to attend.

Martin Luther King Birth Home Tour
450 Auburn Ave NE, Atlanta, GA
Participate in a free ranger-led tour of the home where Dr. King spent the first 12 years of his life. The tours are limited to 15 people and are filled on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the tour. There are no advance reservations. The first tour is at 10 a.m. and the last tour of the day begins at 4 p.m. Learn more online.
