SHOWAbility, a 501c3 nonprofit organization which leverages arts and entertainment to bring visibility and awareness to break down barriers for people with disabilities, particularly performing artists with disabilities, is continuing its monthly Virtual Arts Series with music industry expert, author and speaker, Terry Moorer.

Moorer, a former writer for Billboard Magazine and award-winning publicist for nationally known Jazz and Hip Hop artists like Bob Baldwin, MC Lyte, and athletes like the NBA’s Kenny Smith, was born with cerebral palsy, but didn’t let that deter him from going after and achieving his dreams of working in the music industry.

“Despite my disabilities I have been blessed in my career to work with some of the best, including nationally known artists and record labels in the music industry as National Publicity Director for First Priority Records” says Moorer. “I also got to work with companies like NBA Entertainment, Walt Disney World, MTV, National Urban League on some major community projects, like one designed to address Black on Black crime centered around the song “Self Destruction,” which featured top rap artists of the time like Heavy D., Public Enemy, Doug E. Fresh, MC Lyte, etc.,” shared Moorer, who now has a business consulting with aspiring artists and sharing his various areas of expertise, including the business legalities of the music industry. “I am looking forward to sharing the business side of the entertainment industry during this SHOWAbility Masterclass, in which I will be sharing other ways to make great money in the industry beside performing, which aspiring artists tend to overlook,” he said.
