Must Quarantine For 2 Weeks If Flying From GA To NY, NJ Or CT

ATLANTA, GA — Anyone flying from Georgia to New York, New Jersey and Connecticut are now required to self-quarantine for 14 days.

The travel advisory was issued by three states on Tuesday, according to ABC 7 New York.

It advises people traveling to or returning from states with increasing rates of COVID-19-
New York, New Jersey and Connecticut - to self-quarantine for 14 days. This includes travel by train, bus, car, plane and any other method of transportation, officials said.

Travelers passing through designated states for a limited duration through the course of travel are exempt, according to officials. Examples include: stopping at rest stops for vehicles, buses, and/or trains; or layovers for air travel, bus travel, or train travel.

Last Wednesday, New York Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo announced the same measure for Floridians who visit New York, New Jersey or Connecticut and people traveling from the Sunshine State to those three states. He introduced the measure along with governors from New Jersey and Connecticut.

Those who don’t do the two-week self-quarantine when they arrive could risk a fine or worse.

"You can violate the quarantine until you get caught. Then when you get caught, you're in mandatory quarantine and you're fined thousands of dollars," Cuomo said.

"You can break the law, and if you don't get caught, you're fine, but that's a big if.”

The other states on the travel advisory list were announced last week. They include: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas and Utah.
