ATLANTA — Chick-fil-A Hapeville Dwarf House, the original Chick-fil-A store, will temporarily close its doors later this spring for a makeover.

The store, located in Hapeville, GA, just outside Atlanta’s city borders to the south and near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, was originally opened in May 1946 as the Dwarf Grill by founder S. Truett Cathy. It was opened 24 hours a day, six days a week to serve crews from the nearby Ford plant and Atlanta’s airport. The Dwarf Grill, like all Chick-fil-A locations today, was closed on Sundays.

A post on Facebook Tuesday evening suggested that renovations could begin sometime in May, but did not specify how long the work would take.
