Patch Tastemaker: 'Peachtree Roadies' Blogger Meg Daws

This lifestyle blogger and Buckhead resident is a pro at balancing family, friends and fun! Check out her favorite Atlanta establishments.

Peachtree Roadies blogger Meg Daws believes in the "power of travel, a good mimosa and a great group of friends." Her colorful lifestyle blog, which she runs with her friend Kelly O'Neill, focuses on the pair's day-to-day experiences, from raising their adorable kiddos to compulsively re-decorating their homes.

The dynamic duo is constantly sharing their honest stories, stylish advice and entertaining tips with readers. And it's no secret that Daws gains inspiration from the "optimistic, bighearted" city of Atlanta.

We caught up with the writer to get her top suggestions when it comes to wining and dining in town. From romantic date spot Sotto Sotto to delicious craft cocktail locale Garden & Gun Club, take a look at her all-time favorite spots around Atlanta:

What neighborhood do you live in? Buckhead. We recently bought a house in Haynes Manor. The wide streets, historic charm and incredible neighbors are hard to beat!

Describe Atlanta in three words: Optimistic, bighearted, changing

What’s your favorite overall Atlanta restaurant? Superica (best Tex-Mex in the city.) Their green salsa is to die for!

Best sushi: Umi in Buckhead. Apparently Jennifer Lawrence is a big fan of the Miyazaki beef steak which she apparently called “the best steak she ever had.”

Best Italian food: Pasta Vino is a great, easy spot where you can always get a table — even on the weekends! That’s a big deal when you have a newborn and have limited time to get away. You can be in and out in under and hour but still have a great meal. Hey, babysitters are expensive!

Best dessert: The white cake with white icing at Publix. I’ve been known to polish off an entire cake. By. My. Self. Not in one sitting or anything... and I will share if asked. I’m not a monster.

Best pizza: Antico Pizza Napoletana (the Georgia Tech location). It's an obvious, unoriginal answer — but not wrong.

Best spot for a quick lunch: D.B.A BBQ in Virginia Highlands. I love their salads, and I always balance them out with a beer. And if I’m feeling especially frisky I add the pimento cheese app.

Best spot for a romantic date: We go to Sotto Sotto with friends for a quadruple date night once a year, every year, and I always look forward to it. We’ve always wanted a seat on the patio, but we've never scored that coveted seat.

Best glass of wine: Stop by Holeman & Finch Bottle Shop, ask for a bottle recommendation under $35 (they have plenty of really great options — trust me) and bring it home to enjoy on the porch. You are guaranteed a generous pour if you are doing it yourself.

Best Sunday brunch: Highland Bakery (ONLY the Inman Park location) Get something with bacon, obviously.

Best spot for a power business meeting: Houstons. Ask for a big booth in the back so you can swap company secrets. You also may spot some of Atlanta’s celebrities such a Steve Penley. We have it on good authority that he often grabs a seat at the bar.

Best cup of coffee: Café Lapin in the Peachtree Battle Shopping Center. It doesn’t take itself too seriously and the iced tea is absolutely delightful.

Best steak: Bones. I’m a wine drinker, so I appreciate the deep menu.

Best craft cocktail: Garden & Gun Club at the Atlanta Battery (Suntrust Park). It's exactly what you would expect from my favorite magazine — perfection.

What hotel would you recommend for your out of town guests? The Four Seasons is incredible if you want to spend the money.

Favorite shopping venue or boutique: Baby Braithwaite for, well, babies. Tootsies for special occasion. Nordstrom Rack for a deal!

Best gym or fitness studio: BLAST for HIIT and Stellar Bodies for Megaformer. We are so darn lucky in Atlanta to have so many amazing studios.

Best spa: The Mandarin Oriental is incredible. I try to at least twice a year. Treat Your Feet in Buckhead is also the best use of an hour I can think of, and the prices are incredible.

Favorite charity event or organization: Aqua Vino at the Georgia Aquarium. This year’s event takes place Sept. 21. Grab your tickets now!
