Robber Sticks Up Jogger On BeltLine: Reports

In Memorial Day heist, a robber stole a woman's phone, wallet on BeltLine, say Atlanta police.

ATLANTA, GA — The Atlanta police are searching for a man who robbed a woman as she jogged along a BeltLine trail on Memorial Day, according to media reports. The armed heist occurred at about 7 p.m. Monday, May 27, at the end of the BeltLine in northwest Atlanta near Washington Park, WSB-TV Channel 2 reported.

The robbery victim told Channel 2 that she had headphones on and her music was playing loudly when she felt a tap on her shoulder.

The unidentified woman said she turned around and saw a man brandishing a gun.

She gave him her phone and a pouch with her money and keys in it, and then ran away, Channel 2 reported.

The police recovered her pouch and car keys nearby, but her phone remains missing, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

The robber is described as a dark-skinned man with dreadlocks who was about 5-foot-10 and weighs 150 to 160 pounds, the AJC reported.
