Scorpion Bites Woman On Flight To Atlanta: United

The woman noticed a stinging sensation and, as it got worse, she went to the bathroom. That's what a scorpion fell out of her pant leg.

ATLANTA, GA — A woman was stung by a scorpion on a United Airlines flight from San Francisco to Atlanta, according to multiple reports. The incident, which occurred Thursday, began when the woman on United Flight 1554 said she felt a stinging sensation on her leg.

As the sensation intensified, she went to the United plane's bathroom. That's when the scorpion fell out of her pant leg and scurried away, according to a BBC report.

"After learning that one of our customers on Flight 1554 from San Francisco to Atlanta was stung during flight, our crew responded immediately and consulted with a MedLink physician on the ground who provided medical guidance," United Airlines said in a release to Patch.

The flight crew eventually caught the scorpion. When the flight landed, the woman was treated for multiple stings and will be OK, a TMZ report said.

"Upon landing in Atlanta, the flight was met by medical personnel, and the customer was transported to a local hospital," the airline's statement to Patch said. "We have been in contact with our customer to ensure her well-being."
