ATLANTA, GA — With the Super Bowl set for this Sunday, you can expect quite the exciting weekend in Atlanta. Kick the weekend off the right way with a specialty cocktail or a whiskey tasting at History After Hours at the Atlanta History Center, or sip on your new favorite brew at the Atlanta Beer Fest. And for folks with toddlers, be sure to stop by the High Museum for a special Toddler Tour.
You can also expect plenty of hot chocolate at this weekend’s Allstate Hot Chocolate 15K/5K. And if you’re not sure where to watch the big game Sunday, stop by Hampton + Hudson for a Super Bowl screening with plenty of food and drink specials.

History After Hours
Neighborhood: Buckhead
When the clock strikes 5 p.m. Friday, you know you’ll be in search of a unique event to kick off the weekend — so why not consider History After Hours? Taking place at the Atlanta History Center, History After Hours allows guests to view special exhibits while enjoying specialty cocktails and a sampling of local whiskeys.

Saturday Toddler Tour
Neighborhood: Midtown
The High Museum is easily one of the city’s top attractions for viewing art, but perusing the museum with a toddler in tow can sometimes be tricky. Thankfully, on selected days, the High Museum offers Toddler Tours for museum members. The tours are described as “physically interactive, 20-minute educational experiences for young children” that incorporate dance and drama.

Atlanta Winter Beer Fest
Neighborhood: Midtown
It’s time to grab your brew buds because one of the biggest beer festivals in the city is going down this weekend. The Atlanta Winter Beer Fest will feature samplings of over 150 beers, wines and ciders. To keep the festive vibes going, there will be live music and tunes from DJ QTip. Tickets to the festival are currently $45 but will increase day of the event.

AC Moxy Atlanta Midtown One-Year Anniversary

The AC Moxy Atlanta Midtown plans to celebrate its one-year-anniversary with quite the party. The party, which is free to attend with an RSVP, will consist of three unique experiences. The evening will begin with complimentary champagne and light bites in the AC Lounge, and will then move to the High Note Rooftop Bar for a bar menu sampling. The night will conclude at Bar Moxy.

Midtown Mardi Gras Block Party
Neighborhood: Midtown
It’s almost that time of year again. The Mardi Gras spirit will be alive and well in Atlanta on Saturday at the Midtown Mardi Gras Block Party. Your ticket to the block party gets you complimentary New Orleans-themed shots, access to drink and food specials, and — of course — plenty of beads. Among the bars and restaurants taking part are Tin Lizzy’s Cantina, RA Sushi and Establishment.

Allstate Hot Chocolate 15K/5K
Neighborhood: Downtown
For some reason, running a 5K or even a 15K is so much more exciting when delicious hot chocolate is involved. And you can expect plenty of hot chocolate at this weekend’s Allstate Hot Chocolate 15K/5K. In addition to receiving a finisher's mug or cup filled with hot chocolate and other goodies, runners can also expect plenty of sweet stations along the course for added motivation.

Super Bowl Tailgate + Watch Party
Neighborhood: Inman Park
There will certainly be no shortage of Atlanta bars and restaurants screening the big game Sunday. But Hampton + Hudson has quite the lineup in store for Sunday’s Super Bowl. Its tailgate will begin with brunch at 10 a.m., and from there the restaurant will serve up Super Bowl specials all day, including $15 beer buckets and $5 Frito pies.
