Trump Urges Raffensperger To Find Votes; Official Disputes Trump

WASHINGTON, DC — In an hour-long phone call, President Donald Trump on Sunday pressured Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to "find" enough votes in the state to overturn his November election defeat against Joe Biden.

During the call, according to a recording of the conversation obtained by the Washington Post, Trump pivoted from berating Raffensperger to flattering him to threatening him with legal action should he refuse to pursue Trump's demands.

"The people of Georgia are angry, the people in the country are angry,” Trump said. “And there’s nothing wrong with saying, you know, um, that you’ve recalculated.”

On Sunday Raffensperger rebutted a Trump tweet that claimed the state's top election official "was unwilling, or unable, to answer questions such as the “ballots under table” scam, ballot destruction, out of state “voters”, dead voters, and more. He has no clue!"

Raffensperger, a Republican and early supporter of Trump's presidential ambitions, replied: "Respectfully, President Trump: What you're saying is not true. The truth will come out."

At another point, Trump also said, “So look. All I want to do is this. I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have. Because we won the state," the Post reported.

Also on the call, according to the Post, were White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, conservative lawyer Cleta Mitchell, and the Georgia secretary of state office’s general counsel.
