VIDEO: Kittens Visit GA Aquarium During Coronavirus Pandemic

After puppies took a trip to the Georgia Aquarium while it's temporarily closed to the public, Atlanta Humane decided kittens should visit.

ATLANTA, GA — Several kittens from the Atlanta Humane Society became jealous after they saw two puppies explore the Georgia Aquarium while it's temporarily closed to the public.

While the rest of the state has been ordered to stay at home, a litter of kittens have been enjoying the crowd-free Georgia Aquarium. With the attraction temporarily closed due to the coronavirus, they had it to themselves. The aquarium shared a video of its special guests exploring its Ocean Voyager habitat.

Looks like it was a successful adventure.

These kittens are not up for adoption right now, but anyone interested in adopting a cat or kitten that is up for adoption can visit the Atlanta Humane Society's website at atlantahumane.org.

Per the CDC's website:

  • CDC is aware of a very small number of pets outside the United States to be infected with the virus that causes COVID-19 after close contact with people with COVID-19.
  • The CDC does not have evidence that companion animals, including pets, can spread COVID-19.

Additionally, the CDC also reminds the community:

  • If you become ill and can still properly care for your pet, the best solution is keeping your pet in your home with you.
  • Individuals who come in contact with, or contract, COVID-19 should avoid additional contact with other people and pets.
  • Be sure your pet is prepared and ensure you have multiple caregiver options for your pet in case you become unable to care for your pet.
  • Keep updated with the most recent CDC guidelines online
