White House Forced Georgia U.S. Attorney To Quit: Report
U.S. Attorney Byung J. Pak resigned on Monday after the White House reportedly told him he wasn't doing enough to overturn the election.
ATLANTA, GA — The resignation of an Atlanta-based U.S. attorney came after members of the Trump administration pressured him to quit, according to a new report by The Wall Street Journal.
U.S. Attorney Byung J. "BJay"Pak resigned Monday, a day before this week's Georgia runoff election. His resignation, sources told the Wall Street Journal, came after White House officials told him he needed to step down because he wasn’t "pursuing vote-fraud allegations to (President Donald) Trump’s satisfaction."
In an email sent to colleagues on Monday, Pak attributed his departure to “unforeseen circumstances.”

Pak's resignation also came just hours after the public release of a Jan. 2 phone call during which Trump had urged Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to help him overturn Joe Biden's election victory in the state.
