13 Alleged Gang Members Arrested in 'Operation La Gran Familia'

5 more are still at large after the Gwinnett County operation uncovered drugs, money and guns.

Police have arrested 13 of the 18 suspects sought as part of a two-year investigation into the “La Gran Familia” gang and its affiliates in Gwinnett County.

The gang also has a number of associated “gang sets,” including “Latin Kings,” “Brown Side Locos,” ”Malditos 13” and “Pachucos 21,” Gwinnett Police said in a news statement.

Gang members allegedly bought and sold cocaine, methamphetamine, Xanax, marijuana and firearms, police said.

“Gang leadership and major associates of ‘La Gran Familia’ were identified during the investigation,” called Operation La Gran Familia, police spokesman Cpl. Deon Washington said in the statement. The operation was conducted by the Gwinnett Police Gang Unit in conjunction with the ATF.

Washington said Gwinnett PD, ATF, FBI, DEA, ICE and U.S. Marshals officers attempted to serve 38 state felony arrest warrants and 22 federal arrest warrants at various locations in Gwinnett on May 20.

Seized were:

  • 10 firearms
  • $61,084.00 in cash
  • 17.9 grams of Marijuana
  • 302 Xanax pills
  • 8.7 grams of Cocaine
  • 957.62 grams of Methamphetamine

The search for the five at-large suspects continues.
