Area Students Graduate from Piedmont College

Several local residents graduated during the college's summer commencement ceremony.

Demorest, Ga. — At its recent summer commencement ceremony, Piedmont College in Demorest, Ga., awarded degrees to 216 students. Among the graduates were the following area residents:

  • Timothy Patrick Croke of Auburn earned a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree in secondary history education.
  • Katherine Dunreath Fay of Auburn earned a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree inearly childhood education.
  • Abigail Meents Long of Winder earned a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree inmusic education.
  • Abigail Meents Long of Winder earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in music.
  • Elizabeth A. Stapleton of Statham earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
  • Ashlie E. Wheeler of Statham earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.

Piedmont College is an independent liberal arts college of about 2,600 students with campuses located in Demorest and Athens, Ga. Founded in 1897, the college offers undergraduate degrees in 50 major areas and graduate degrees in education and business, including doctoral degrees in education.
