A company that owns or operates Clearview Regional Medical Center in Monroe and East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro plans to merge with the hospital's parent company.

The Barrow County News reports Barrow Regional Medical Center will likely come under new ownership soon. 

Community Health Systems recently announced a merger agreement with Health Management Associates, the hospital's parent company.
