Barrow Students Return to School on Wednesday — What You Should Know
We've got five things you should know as your child heads back to school.
Barrow County students will start back to school tomorrow, Wednesday, Aug. 7. Here is some information to start the school year off right.
1. What time school starts and ends
- High schools — 7:30 a.m. to 2:35 p.m.
- Middle schools — 7:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.
- Elementary schools — 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
- Pre-K — 8:20 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
- Pre-K through fifth grade — Breakfast is $1 and lunch is $1.50. Reduced price breakfast is $.30 and reduced price lunch is $.40.
- Middle school — Breakfast is $1.25 and lunch is $1.75. Reduced price breakfast is $.30 and reduced price lunch is $.40.
- High school — Breakfast is $1.25 and lunch is $2. Reduced price breakfast is $.30 and reduced price lunch is $.40.
The Barrow County School System has transportation information available on its website. For additional information, call 770-867-2783. Starting Monday, Aug. 22, parents can follow the school system's transportation department mornings and afternoons on Twitter @bcsstransport.

5. Tax free weekend
