Deputies Respond to Several Entering Auto Reports

A Winder resident and a Bethlehem resident also reported their vehicles stolen.

Deputies with the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office have responded to several reports of vehicles being broken into over the past week. Here are summaries of those incidents.

On Aug. 2, a resident of Wall Road in Statham reported the driver’s side door of his vehicle was found open. A music CD had been broken and was lying outside the vehicle. Missing from inside was a special edition DJ Hero Turntable to be used with an Xbox 360 gaming console.

Also on Aug. 2, two other residents of Wall Road in Statham reported their vehicles had been broken into and were left disheveled. A pair of men’s Ray Ban sunglasses valued at $200 was stolen from one resident’s vehicle. The second resident, who had two vehicles broken into, reported nothing was taken from either.

On Aug. 4, a resident of Cedar Trail in Winder reported a radio inside a truck on the property had been partially removed from the dash. Prior to a deputy’s arrival, the resident said she had observed a suspicious vehicle and two people running from behind her residence.

A resident of Appian Way in Statham reported Aug. 4 that several items had been taken from two vehicles parked at his home. Items stolen from both vehicles included radar detectors and GPS units. A cigarette lighter plug attached to two USB plus was also taken from one of the vehicles. The total estimated value of the items taken was $880.

On Aug. 6, a resident of Carriage Drive in Bethlehem reported a wallet stolen from inside a vehicle left unlocked overnight.

On Aug. 4, a resident of Brandon Drive in Winder reported his 2011 red Chevrolet Silverado was stolen. The truck was valued at $40,220, and the resident said he did not know of anyone who might have taken his vehicle. 

A resident of Moss Side Drive in Bethlehem reported her vehicle had been taken from her driveway. The car was located by a deputy in the area. Several items had been taken, including a debit card, two credit cards and a gas card.
