BRASELTON, GA — More than 500 new Amazon employees got to work in Georgia on Thursday, receiving and shipping the first orders from a fulfillment center in Braselton.
An iPhone case was the first item received at the 600,000-square-foot center, while the first order shipped out was a pack of plastic Halloween pumpkins sent to a customer in Longview, California.
The new fulfillment center specializes in household decor items, sporting equipment and gardening tools for the Web's leading online retailer.
