Publix has issued a voluntary recall of Publix brand jalapeno bagels after the supplier reported that some bagels may have been contaminated with glass and small stones.

According to the company, the recall affects jalapeno bagels sold in Alabama, Florida, Georgia and South Carolina only. Stores in Tennessee and North Carolina are not impacted by this particular recall. The affected bagels are sold in the self-serve bins or the artisan cases in the bakery department, Publix said.

Publix said that they had not received any reports of illnesses or injuries as a result of the potentially tainted bagels, and the recall was issued out of an “abundance of precaution.”

Maria Brous, Publix media and community relations director, said that customers can return the jalapeno bagels to their local Publix store for a full refund. Brous added that customers with additional questions can contact Publix’s Customer Care Department at 1-800-242-1227 or can visit Publix’s website.
