Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Deputy Shannon Volkodav said in a news release that Day was arrested Monday after an internal investigation indicated he had “inappropriately touched three inmates in a sexual manner” in separate incidents between July 8, 2014 and April 4, 2015.

Volkodav said Day was investigated beginning April 5 after an inmate called the jail’s Investigative Services Division Tip Line to report the alleged crimes.
