The Winder Police Department is working to solve other recent burglaries in which these suspects could be involved.

Detectives with the Winder Police Department have closed several burglary cases that occurred in recent weeks. According to a news release, one adult male and four juvenile males have been arrested.Â
The adult male, 31-year old-Kenneth Atherton of Dacula, is accused of breaking into a May Street laundromat twice. He was reportedly employed with the Waffle House next door at the time, and between the two burglaries, a total of $560 in cash was taken, $540 of which was in coins, two 12-packs of soda, a flashlight and most of the security camera system installed in the business.
In an unrelated series of incidents, detectives also apprehended four juvenile males after they allegedly broke into the Winder Package Store on North Broad Street. Various types of alcohol were stolen. According to the release, the four juveniles were found after a resident called the police department to complain about four underage children standing in a nearby yard drinking alcohol. The juveniles were found to be in possession of the alcohol stolen from the package store. Also found in the juvenile’s possession were items reported stolen earlier, during the same night, from a residential carport in a nearby neighborhood.
