Police Arrest Man for Shooting Up Winder Neighborhood
The suspect has been charged with numerous felonies, from aggravated assault to cruelty to children

Police have arrested a man who allegedly fired several gunshots into neighboring homes, resulting in a brief SWAT standoff.
No one was injured in the incident, but bullet holes were found in several homes in the Century Oaks subdivision.
Winder Police said on Facebook that Steven Fincher, 29, was arrested Thursday, July 9, and charged with several felonies.

Police responded to numerous 911 calls around 1:30 p.m. Thursday regarding shots being heard. Police said gunshots also were heard by officers as they arrived, and found to be concentrated in one area.
The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office SWAT responded and evacuated nearby residents. Fincher surrendered after a brief standoff.

“Fincher’s mother and his sister, four young children and a male family friend were able to be evacuated from the home Fincher was firing from with police assistance.” Winder Police said in the Facebook post.
Fincher has been charged with six counts of aggravated assault, six counts of cruelty to children, three counts of first-degree criminal damage to property, and one count of terroristic threats.
