Police: Man Found in Driveway Victim of Home Invasion
Police say the man's distinctive-looking truck was stolen during the Saturday shooting near Dacula/Auburn.

Police are looking for a pickup truck that was stolen during the weekend shooting death in eastern Gwinnett County.
Police said Brian Whitfield, 45, was found shot to death in his driveway at 1735 Flowery Branch Road in unincorporated Gwinnett County near Dacula, the victim of a home invasion. The incident occurred around 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6.
Whitfield was dead from “apparent gunshot wounds,” police said. A passerby called 911 after seeing the man lying in the driveway of the residence.

“The homicide appears to have occurred in the course of a home invasion robbery,” Gwinnett Police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith said in an email Monday afternoon. “There were items missing from inside the residence, and the victim’s truck was also stolen and has not been recovered.”
Police said the stolen truck is a distinct 2005 Dodge Ram “Rumblebee” edition with the Georgia tag PCY 1995. The truck is a single-cab, black, with a yellow stripe near the tailgate.

Police shared a photo of a truck of the same make and model (not the actual truck).
No suspects have been named.
