The real estate company which leases out the first floor of a building near the entrance to Buckhead Atlanta wants to build over its rear parking lot and give the nondescript exterior a fresh look, according to a report.
Meltzer Properties wants to expand the first floor of the Franco Building, which sits at Peachtree and East Paces Ferry roads and is notable for the digital billboards placed in the windows on the second floor, BuckheadView says.

Meltzer’s plans call for extending the first story of the building by removing the parking lot and building on top of it. Meltzer tells BuckheadView that this plan will remove a dangerous hazard to Buckhead Atlanta shoppers and will give them more retail space to rent out.
The building made headlines in March for entirely different and unsavory reasons when a group of hackers accessed the digital billboards and caused them to display lewd images. Metzler does not have any control over the second floor billboards and admits they’ve made it harder to lease the vacant first floor.
