Buyer of Tyler Perry's Mansion Revealed
Businessman-turned-evangelist David Turner paid the largest sum in Atlanta real estate history — $17.5 million — for the mansion.
Atlanta, GA — A businessman-turned-evangelist is the man who made Atlanta real estate history.
David Turner has been revealed as the buyer of Tyler Perry's 17-acre Buckhead property, a sale that, when it was negotiated in May 2016, became the most expensive real estate transaction in the city's history. Originally listed at $25 million, Turner bought the property for $17.5 million.

In an interview with the website's Ben Hirsh, Turner said, “God literally told me to come here. I went online and I saw this house, and that’s when I felt like God told me, ‘This is your house.’” Turner and Perry eventually met face to face and negotiated the sale.
Born in Miami, Turner began his business career as a producer of branded and private-label nuts and dried fruit including roasted and salted nuts, trail mixes and chocolate- and yogurt-covered nuts. Over the years, he built SunTree Snack Foods and Southwest Commodities, which combined have more than $100 million in sales.
