The developers looking to convert the site of the former Garden Hills shopping center into an office tower will push back a zoning meeting another 30 days to continue to meet with neighbors, according to a report.
Brand Properties has asked Neighborhood Planning Unit (NPU) B to postpone their meeting from Aug. 25 to Sept. 29 so that Brand CEO Brand Morgan can speak with the Garden Hills Civic Association, BuckheadView reports. The two meetings were to be held at the exact same date and time, so Morgan asked for the deferment so the neighbors would not feel rushed.

The current proposal authored by Brand calls for a six story office tower with six stories of below ground parking and a separate two story retail structure.

The strip mall was severely damaged by a fire on Dec. 4, 2013. Although the fire was contained to one location inside the structure, the fire caused an estimated $1.4 million in damages and the remaining tenants in the strip mall have since left the building.
Patch reported in September of 2014 that Rex Bray of the Planners and Engineers Collaborative applied for a demolition permit for the 23,785 sq. ft. building plus the sidewalk, curbing, asphalt, paving, and utilities on the site at 2815 Peachtree Road on Aug. 11. Brand Properties, doing business as Gardenbrand, LLC was listed as the property owner. The estimated cost of the demolition was listed as $200,000.
