Garden Hills Project Redesign Looks Promising
Developers are hopeful that with community support the new design can begin construction early next year.

Developers looking to build on the site of the former Garden Hills shopping center may have finally reached an agreement with the local community on the best design for the vacant property.
Brand Properties’ CEO Brand Morgan told BuckheadView he was confident that the new plans for an 8-story mixed use office tower will be seen by Neighborhood Planning Unit (NPU) B’s Zoning Committee during its next meeting in November.
The redesigned space will feature extensive brickwork, be ten feet shorter than the original design, and will put more parking under Peachtree Road by digging out the back of the property, according to BuckheadView.

Brand’s previous design for the property called for a six story office tower with six stories of below ground parking and a separate two story retail structure.
Brand had delayed the appearance for several months in efforts to win approval from neighboring stakeholders before going to the zoning committee. Most recently, Brand was scheduled to appear at the committee’s Tuesday meeting but was asked to postpone to hammer out a final agreement with the Garden Hills Civic Association.

That association will vote on Brand’s new proposal on Nov. 17, in advance of the Nov. 24 zoning committee meeting. If both organizations approve the design, construction could commence early next year, BuckheadView says.
