New Townhome Development Permit Filed

Developers want to build almost 50 townhomes on the 3.45 acre Buckhead property.

A development group has filed plans with the City of Atlanta to build dozens of new townhomes adjacent to The Manor at Buckhead.

Documents filed with the city show 50 Lakeland Development LLC plans to build 44 townhomes at on 3.45 acres at 50 Lakeland Drive NE. Costs to prepare the land for construction are estimated to be $1.6 million.

Developers also want the parcel rezoned to MR-3, which will allow for the construction of multifamily dwellings with a maximum floor area ratio of 0.696. The property currently contains six two-story buildings with 48 condominiums and a swimming pool.

According to documents filed with the city, the new complex will be “fronting 218 feet on the south side of Lakeland Drive and beginning approximately 284 feet from the southwest intersection of Lakeland Drive and Roswell Road.”

The project went before the Board of Zoning adjustment last month and was granted variances to change the front yard setback from 40 to 20 feet and to change the rear yard setback from 25 to 20 feet.
