An Atlanta condominium complex that was built the same year the Brooklyn Dodgers won the World Series may soon make way for a 21st Century high-end condo development.

According to BuckheadView, developers have submitted a plan to rezone the property at 2520 Peachtree Road to allow for the construction of a 130,000 sq. ft., 22-story condominium tower planned to contain around 100 units. A 47-unit condo complex built in 1955 currently sits on the site.

Buckhead’s Neighborhood Planning Unit (NPU) B was supposed to get a look at the proposal at a Tuesday night meeting, but Zoning Committee Chairman Bill Murray tells BuckheadView that the presentation has been tabled. Developers JPX Works, LLC will go before the Atlanta Zoning Review Board on June 11 to plead their case.

Murray tells BuckheadView that he doesn’t believe the property requires any zoning changes, but adds that JPX won’t be able to get in front of the NPU Zoning Committe until their July meeting if the city deems a rezoning necessary.
