After competing Monday, Olivia will join other finalists in the outfield to shag fly balls during Monday night’s Home Run Derby.

Olivia is a rising fifth-grader at Duncan Creek Elementary School in Hoschton (Mill Creek Cluster).

“I have no clue (what it’s going to be like),” Olivia told the Gwinnett Daily Post. “But I know it’s going to be fun and exciting.”

More than 600,000 boys and girls, ages 7-14, competed this spring in the official skills program of Major League Baseball for an opportunity to advance to the national finals, according to the press release.
