Legendary Gwinnett County basketball coach Eddie Martin will be the new boys coach at Buford High School, the school announced.

Martin, who has coached previously in Gwinnett at Brookwood, Norcross and Greater Atlanta Christian, is a member of the Gwinnett Sports Hall of Fame. He has won seven state titles — three at Norcross and four at GAC.

Martin left GAC in March to look for other opportunities, reported the Gwinnett Daily Post, which said the coach has a 713-227 career record.
He replaces former coach Allen Whitehart, who resigned after five seasons.
